	Get Your Preach-In Materials / Organizer’s Kit We have put together a kit to increase your impact! Register to get the Preach-In Kit today — you can choose the free do-it-yourself download or for your convenience we have produced everything in print and will send you the Preach-In Organizer’s Kit for $15, with an optional DVD and an option to order more postcards postcards. It includes: 50 “Love the Earth” postcards with attached bulletin inserts These can be easily inserted into your service bulletin and will help educate congregants about global warming and the Preach-In. Filling out the postcards to President Obama will give people a positive and easy action that they can take to make a difference. The postcards urge the President to abide by his campaign promise to address climate change and uphold our promise to the world that the U.S. will help lead relief efforts to help vulnerable communities who are suffering due to rising seas, extreme weather, and a changing climate. Additional postcards are available upon ordering. The free online version of the Preach-In kit includes a print template for the postcards. DVD – “Hungry Tide” — 53 minutes The Pacific nation of Kiribati is on the front lines of climate change. Sea level rise is threatening the lives of 105,000 people in this vulnerable and forgotten corner of the Pacific. Maria Tiimon, a Kiribati woman living in Sydney, has been given the task of alerting the world to her sinking homeland. The film follows Maria from a small Sydney high school to the world stage. Kiribati’s President Anote Tong, acutely aware of these problems, says his government lacks the resources to fix them. The eventual relocation of his people is inevitable, he believes, noting, “We have to assume the worst.” This film tells the historic story of what may become the first nation that is forced to move due to global warming. 	Set a date and tell us about it! Ideally, work with your clergy or faith leaders to schedule a Preach-In activity during the National Preach-In on Global Warming (February 8, 9, or 10). 	Assist your faith leader with sermon and discussion ideas. The theme of this year’s Preach-In centers on climate justice and responding to those experiencing the “first and worst” effects of the climate change. This is an opportunity to learn about and speak out on behalf of the most vulnerable: Disappearing Pacific Island nations, such as Kiribati People living in low-lying areas right here in the United States Communities situated on melting permafrost in Alaska Those in the path of extreme weather, such as extreme heat, drought, unusual flooding, and wildfires. 	Collect Valentines postcards and send them to President Obama. The Preach-In Kit includes “Love the Earth” postcards with an attached descriptive card that you can distribute to your congregants in the service bulletin. Encourage people to fill out their postcards and drop them in the collection basket or in a container as they leave the service. Together, we hope to send 50,000 postcards to President Obama from people of faith. Put them in an envelope and send to President Obama. Fill out the small survey card and send it back to us,so we can get a total count of postcards sent to the President!
