How to Participate in the Preach-In

Note: Every good Preach-In event has a helpful organizer at the helm. If you are a clergy person, find a helper. This page is for Preach-In organizers and provides four easy steps to success.

All major faith traditions call on their supporters to be good stewards of Creation, and to love God by loving others — especially those in our community most in need. Join IPL in highlighting this calling. The National Preach-In on Climate Change materials takes place in February each year, but the materials can be used all year long.

Steps to a Successful Preach-In Event

podium Find Sermon and Discussion Ideas
We have a collection of sermon and activity ideas for different faith traditions in the sermon resources section. All major faith traditions call on their supporters to be good stewards of Creation, and to love God by caring for those most in need. Join IPL in highlighting this calling. The theme of the 2014 Preach-In is “Doing our Part.” Congregations all over the country are doing their part by using energy more efficiently and greening their facilities. We are responding to the urgent need to curb climate change and protect our children’s future. It’s important to practice what we preach, and also sometimes to preach what we practice. Join us to preach and teach about the urgent need to protect our children’s future, and all of God’s Creation. You can participate from the comfort of your congregation. Click here for “Ideas for Sermons and Talks” organized by religion.
